SPS main office is in Gihundwe District Hospital. Our health program is interconnected
with Nutrition program. We pay regular visits to wards to identify patients in needy
conditions and malnutrition risk, and provide nutritious food which is in itself part of cure.
SPS work with healthcare providers to follow up on nutrition of admitted children until
they cure. This goes hand in hand with education to caregivers. SPS work with
community health workers and ECD Centers to make kitchen gardens for children, and
ensure sustainability. Our motive to focus in rural areas is complemented by 2020 Rwanda
DHS findings showing that children born from women with no education are more likely to be
stunted than those whose mothers have been to school.
In addition, SPS financially support poor families to adhere to community-based health
insurance.
